God Desires to Bless America--
Amidst the Storms--And He is
God Bless America.
I am still praying this for our land. I believe with all my heart
that this is His desire for America – to bless it. Under the law,
God blesses us based on what we do. Under the Gospel, God blesses
us because He so chooses. He blesses by loving. He blesses by
disciplining us. He blesses by showing us our sin and offering us
His life so we can love His will, receive it, and want to see it
done. Under the Gospel, God shows us that our true enemies are not
people, not even people who disagree with us or who seek to harm
us. God shows us that our true enemies are the evil spiritual
powers that rule over people, families, lands and nations. These
evil powers coerce, deceive, entice, energize and hold captive
people, lands and nations so that people think that doing the will
of Satan is good. These powers deceive so the people think that
there is no enjoyment of serving a loving God. These powers deceive
so that people think Christians hate them and God only wants them to
suffer. These powers deceive so that people think that there is no
freedom from immoral life styles or addictive behaviors. These
powers deceive so that people think that the power of Satan to hold
people in sin is greater than the power of God to free them by
imparting the life, character and power of His Spirit into them.
Unfortunately some in the Christian community think this way also.
BUT GOD knows His
own power and love. He knows He can overcome the plans of Satan and
his deceptions. He knows He can train and empower his people so
they will call for the destruction of the kingdoms where evil
spirits rule. He knows He can and that He will establish His reign
and use His people to bring His kingdom rule forth. God told Jesus
to teach us to pray, “Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as
it is in heaven.” God is using the events of the recent storms to
show us His love and His desire to establish His ways in our own
lives and spirit and in the heavens where Satan has set up his
temporary rule. He is using the events of recent days to bring about
His plan to increase His reign in the hearts of His people, and to
bring down the strongholds of Satan in the earth. God is blessing
America by showing us our deep need of Him and His character.
It is interesting
that one of the so called foundations of our government is the
complete separation of church and state. Only Islamic nations can
use the principles of their religion in the every day matters of
government. God is breaking down this ungodly belief and
stronghold. The recent events have brought about Christian churches
and Christian ministries working together with the National, State,
and local governments. Leaders of governmental agencies at all
levels are welcoming the Christian community to come along side them
in dealing with the enormous task of helping the refugees of the
recent storms. God is blessing America.

The excess partying
and the “no holds barred” levels of sexual immorality so much a part
of the “Mardi Gras” atmosphere of New Orleans has been tempered by
the absence of most of its people. Yes, the day after the storm some
of the remaining citizens had parade celebrating immorality, but
there were only few in attendance. Remember, God has a desire for
us to have parades and to celebrate. He commanded His people to
celebrate the Feasts by coming to Jerusalem three times a year for
that purpose. His feasts centered on His plan to bring the
Israelites out of their bondage to Egypt (Passover), into
experiencing the fullness of His Spirit (Pentecost), and then coming
together to worship, war and experience the removal of evil so they
could be united with His and His nature. (Tabernacles) Pray that
God’s people will come back to New Orleans with a greater zeal to
personally experience and celebrate the things of God, and show the
others in New Orleans of the joy of living for Him. God is blessing
America.

The Bible says that
when immorality reaches certain levels that the land will vomit out
its inhabitants. Certainly many in southern cities have been forced
to leave their homes. Certainly gambling and immorality are present
in many of the communities struck by the storms. Yet, there is also
much gross immorality in many other cities. Only by God’s grace are
not all cities destroyed in times of judgment. The fact that many
have had to leave their homes has shown the nation the deplorable
conditions that many had to live in before the storms hit. Some
who have left have said their lives are better in the new places
provided for them. The resources of the government, businesses and
the faith based community have come forth.
There are many
heart warming stories of how the Christian community has come
together in providing for the refugees that have come into their
communities. Many can provide for the physical needs of those in
need, some can understand and help their emotional and psychological
needs, but only the Christian community can minister to the deep
seeded spiritual needs of the refugees. The Christian community can
bring freedom from the oppressions and addictions that keep people
in sinful and other self destructive lifestyles. We can bring the
life of God into the hearts of those in need and He can bring them
into their created plan and destiny for their lives. As Christians
give of themselves, their time and their treasures those in need
will see the love of God. As Christians pray for and minister the
reality of the Spiritual Presence of Christ to these people, lives
can be changed forever.
There are several
excellent Christian ministries in New Orleans that have had such a
vision for those in need in New Orleans – prior to the storms. Pray
that these ministries will be strengthened for the increased task
that lies ahead as they return to New Orleans. Pray that the
Christian community will continue to reach out to the temporary
refugees after they return and support the ministries in New Orleans
and other cities in the days ahead. God is blessing America.

The Bible says that
immorality will greatly increase in these days. The Bible says that
great spiritual darkness will cover the earth. The Bible also says
that the light of Christ will be arising up in His people during the
same time. This is happening. Centers of continuous prayer and
worship are being established throughout the world. Centers of
Spiritual restoration and training are being established in cities
throughout our land. Christian homes are becoming filled with the
love and increased presence of God and people in the neighborhood
are sensing this. God is providing places of light amidst the
darkness. He is increasing His presence in His people, in their
homes, their communities and even in the places where they work.
We, like many others, are called to do this, to provide a place of
rest, healing, and training. We are doing this locally. Our son
Dan has a similar vision for Bolivia where he is living. We are
networking with ministries in Israel and other nations. I will be
leaving shortly for a trip to South Africa and Nigeria. God is
moving around the world, sending us into the world, and bringing
like minded spiritual leaders to America to share what He has given
them with us.
GOD IS BLESSING AMERICA
