Cyrus Ministries International (CMI)

We attended a conference in a Hispanic church in Chicago from September 7^th through 10^th. There were people there from many US cities and nations. The leaders were Hispanic people from Chicago, Guatemala, Bolivia, Michigan and Arizona.

The pastor of the church is from Guatemala. Five years ago God told him to go to Chicago and He would be given authority in this city. This international Hispanic conference on reaching Chicago has been held every year since then. Kay and I were there because we are networked together with the man from Bolivia. Our son Dan is a missionary there, and we have met this man who has a kindred spirit like ours for international intercession and city reaching. We have ministered in his church, and have networked with him in Bolivia and now in the US.

We were able to share our vision, and Chicago prayer walking experiences with the leaders and took them on a downtown Chicago drive around Saturday morning. I was then asked to accompany them on the Chicago fly around in the afternoon. Saturday afternoon was the time when the conference attendees had a police-led drive around. They had a parade of scores of cars that drove around the north side of Chicago, worshiping and praying. At the same time a group went up into the Sears Tower for intercession. I was then part of the leadership team that went to Pewaukee airport for the fly around. Eight of us went up in three small aircraft and flew over the city and spent an hour in the air, making prophetic declarations and interceding over the land, the lake, the downtown area and the north and south areas of Chicago.

As we were returning to the airport, we saw a belt of light over the horizon in the southwest. This was similar to the first rays of sunlight that come up in the early morning hours before the sun has appeared. Then we looked back to the city and all the land was still in relative darkness, because of the cloudy day, but the buildings of Chicago were now in light, from the band of light in the western horizon. I have never seen the light of the sun rising in the west over Chicago before. The word that then came was "Arise shine Chicago, for your light has come." When we returned to the conference location, we were informed that the Sears Tower group had received a similar word.

God is doing new things in Chicago, on many fronts. I believe it is significant that He is raising up international intercessors, in addition to the many faithful local intercessors. As you know, one of the key events allowing strongholds of evil to be set up over Chicago was the World Congress of Religions back in 1893, when non-Christian spiritual leaders came to Chicago and brought many other spirits with them. Today, I believe, God is bringing Christian spiritual leaders from many nations to bring Chicago into its destiny in Christ.
