The Lion of Judah Roars in Africa

Blessings to you.  We have been back for over one month, and have digested some of the things God is doing in Africa.  Thanks to your prayers, we are still being informed of some of the results from our trip.  We will be sharing these things with you.  We will try to give you a brief report and a picture each week.  We hope this will give you some idea of what God is doing through your prayers, and yet not be too overbearing for your time.

We believe that God is arising in the nations.  We believe that He is rising up in this nation.  We believe that the Lion of Judah is Rising and Beginning to Roar in Africa.

God is moving in Africa.  Many Christians have written books and articles about the move of God in Africa today.  Our recent trips to Burkina Faso, Kenya, and Nigeria have witnessed this truth into our spirits.  When Dan and I were in Kenya, in January of 2002, Dan had a vision of a Lion roaming the peaks of the mountains of Kenya and beginning to roar.  We were conducting a pastors and leaders conference in the Kakemega area of western Kenya.  Later in that conference, the Spirit of God fell on all of us.  Many were prostrate before the awesome manifestation of the presence of God.  After some time some of us heard a lion roaring.  We thought at first that God had moved on some of the people to roar like a lion.  However, when the roaring continued I looked around, walked around and saw that no person was uttering these roaring sounds.  After some time the roaring stopped, and others testified how they had heard the roaring sounds.  God is beginning to move like a roaring lion in Africa.

The Bible has some insight to offer concerning the Lord as a roaring lion.  Some of those truths are presented here.

• 1.  For thus the LORD has spoken to me: "As a lion roars, and a young lion over his prey (When a multitude of shepherds is summoned against him, he will not be afraid of their voice nor be disturbed by their noise), so the LORD of hosts will come down to fight for Mount Zion and for its hill.  (Isaiah 31:4 NKJ)

When a lion has its prey, he will roar to keep other beings animal and human, from taking his prey from him.  So, the Lord will roar over His people when He comes to protect them.  The lion of Judah will rise up and capture us for Himself and will protect us from other attackers.  We have seen God rise up over His people in Africa, protecting them, delivering them, healing them and providing for them.  We were in some difficult and trying situations, but God, through the prayers of His people always brought us through.  He will do this in the difficult times that lie ahead.

• 2.  The LORD also will roar from Zion, and utter His voice from Jerusalem; the heavens and earth will shake; but the LORD will be a shelter for His people, and the strength of the children of Israel.  "So you shall know that I am the LORD your God, dwelling in Zion My holy mountain. Then Jerusalem shall be holy, and no aliens shall ever pass through her again." (Joel 3:16-17 NKJ)

When the Lion of Judah begins to roar, a shaking will occur, but God promises to provide for His people during the shaking.  He promises to make us holy during the shaking, and to keep foreign intruders from occupying our land, our heart, which is His temple.  He promises to do this for both the spiritual Jerusalem, which is our spirit, and His natural Jerusalem.  We are seeing things shaken here and in Africa.  The call to repentance, holiness, and restoration is coming forth, and being received and acted upon.  The recurring theme God had us bring forth in Africa was the call to receive and walk in His holiness and to know His power.  

• 3.  The Zion of God is being built.  Places of continual worship are being established in many places.  Our spirits are being filled with new songs for continual worship and living in the presence of our God who dwells in us.  We experienced God's power not only in our services we conducted, but also in the homes we visited.  We saw God heal and deliver people in all these places.  We even were able to show the love and healing power of God to the prince of the state of Owerri, Nigeria.  His wife was healed.  
  

• 4.  "Behold, he shall come up like a lion from the floodplain of the Jordan against the dwelling place of the strong; but I will make them suddenly run away from her. And who is a chosen man that I may appoint over her? For who is like Me? Who will arraign Me? And who is that shepherd who will withstand Me?" (Jeremiah 50:44 NKJ)

God is rising up from within us, leading us into new battles, internal and external.  Nothing will stop Him.  We shall be a holy people; His light in us will cause our enemies to flee from Him who lives within us.  We have seen this in Africa and the church in America shall rise up and be victorious.  We saw people delivered from spirits of witchcraft and sorcery.  We saw people freed from generational bondage of fear, shame and other strongholds.

• 5.  A lion has roared! Who will not fear? The Lord GOD has spoken! Who can but prophesy? (Amos 3:8 NKJ)

When the Lion roars, many will prophesy.  You have a deep reverence and respect for the word of God in those times.  You only want to declare what God is saying, and many will move in this dimension during these days.  We have seen this in Africa and know it will also increase in our nation.  We saw people learn to pray over others.  We saw people healed one day and then minister healing the next day.  We saw God bringing a prophetic word to many, and anoint the pastors to move in this type of ministry.

• 6.  But one of the elders said to me, "Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the scroll and to loose its seven seals." (Revelation 5:5 NKJ)

The Lion of Judah will bring forth the judgments of God as described in Revelation.  The church's finest hour is yet to come, but it is coming now.  We saw leaders have tears in their eyes as they began to understand and move in the authority that is theirs in Christ.

Most of you know about the turmoil in the Episcopal Church through their acceptance of the homosexual lifestyle.  A recent intercessors report indicated that two locations in Africa were standing for righteousness.  The Episcopal Bishop in Kenya and the Bishop over the Owerri State in Nigeria were noted as having taken strong stands against these decisions.  Your prayers keep the Son of Righteousness arising with healing in His wings.

Pray for us as we continue to work in Kenya, Nigeria, and Burkina Faso and as we begin to work in South Africa.  Pray for us as we share these things with other nations, and establish training and restoration centers in the locations God provides.
